The texts talk about how text itself can have a deeper meaning than just the words that are presented on the page. I thought about something important that we all should do as American citizens and something contemporary. Voting. I chose this because it is a relevant topic right now with the election coming up quickly. There are a lot of limitations on voting that are not explicitly stated in the requirements but are known by the people who actually register and have to go through the process. I address these topics in my response. They allow a certain group of people to be over represented in the group of voters who elect the people who govern the land, leaving us with the same tired results. The tone is matter of fact with a tinge of annoyance. I learned to look deeper into everything that I read, not everything is as it seems and sometimes you can't even know that just by looking deeper into the words, you have to live them.
