A text based document that relates to me very significantly is my birth certificate. Not only does this birth certificate document my birth but also reveals a part of my identity. I say a part of my identity because I believe my parents are a part of my identity because many of my current morals and beliefs mirrors theirs. I also believe the birth certificate shows a bit of my background, being that I was born in Newark. I kind of think by including the name of my parents also shows my cultural background of being Nigerian which can also say a lot I'm presuming.
The theme I am responding to is essentially my self identity. The material I used to process my response was my birth certificate and the process I used to create my response was looking at the birth certificate line by line, interpreting what each part represented when it comes to who I am. I used that process because I just figured that would be a easier way for me to organize what I'm looking at without making it too overwhelming. I chose my birth certificate because it was the easiest thing for me to use. The limitations I found with this is that a birth certificate doesn’t say much about who you really are but allows room for many assumptions however, the birth certificate does give a brief insight on what your upbringing might have been like. The choices that I made came from what was presented on my birth certificate and I just connected what wad presented to who I am today. Through this response I learned that even things with little text have great meaning.
The theme of my blog will be beauty and self empowerment.I want my audience to immediately know who I am and what my blog will be about. When people visit my blog I want them to feel empowered and inspired.
